Culture is nothing but the custom, arts and institution of a nation, people or an ethnic group. Culture is what we pick and learn during our upbringing. The western culture is very different from the culture in Asian countries. People in the west are more stylish, self-indulgent, outgoing and lead a free lifestyle. They don’t adhere to the rules of the family and do things as per their own wish and whim. In Asian countries, people believe in upholding family virtues. Their habits and lifestyle bears a striking contrast to the lifestyle of people in the west.
In the words of Mohandas Gandhi, the man behind India’s struggle for freedom, “A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and souls of its people......a culture of the mind must be subservient to the heart. No culture can live if it attempts to be exclusive.” Culture restricted to an area, cannot persist for long.
