Dependence means to rely on someone else for support in any matter whether it is professional, personal or financial. If you are dependent on someone, you always need that the other person's help. Independent people are those who know how to fend for themselves, do every task on their own, taking minimal help from others. Independence is something that you also learn away from home, when you have to take decisions by yourself, earn for yourself and manage everything concerning you. Dependency on someone else is not considered good. The moment your source of dependency deserts you, you will find yourself helpless and in a maze.
In the words of Thomas Jefferson, “Dependence begets subservience and venality, suffocates the germ of virtue, and prepares fit tools for the designs of ambitions.” Dependence is not at all advisable, according to Sir Thomas Jefferson. Dependence on others, should be minimal, you should be humble enough to ask for someone's help, when needed. But turning this into a habit and making it regular, makes you dependent on someone.
