Desperation is the feeling of extreme seriousness, for something or someone. Desperation can be positive or negative. Positive desperation drives us to achieve something or someone that we are extremely serious for. It makes us work towards our dreams or ambition, thus acts as a boon in every case. In the words of Jim Carrey, “Desperation is a necessary ingredient to learning anything, or creating anything. If you ain't desperate at some point, you ain't interesting.”
Desperation can also be a source of negative popularity and make you notorious, especially when your desperation is evident on through your body language and people can perceive it with ease. In the words of Douglas Hourton, “Desperation is like stealing from the mafia. You stand a good chance of attracting the wrong attention.” So, if you are desperate for something or someone, keep it within yourself. Don't get vocal about it.
