Electricity is a form of energy resulting from charged particles. According to the law of conservation of energy, energy is inter-convertible. Energy can be converted from one form to another. As such, electric energy can be converted to other energy forms and other energy forms can also be converted to electric energy.
Supplying electric current to buildings for heating, lighting and other purposes, is electricity. Electricity can be generated by using turbine and dynamo, from the speed of flowing water. The kinetic energy of running water is used to generate hydro-electricity. Similarly, wind mills are used to generate electricity from winds. Electricity is an indispensible energy form without which most of our work cannot be done. Therefore, one should always save electricity. According to Laurie Anderson, “A lot of words confuse the idea of life and electricity like the word livewire.”
