Empathy means the ability to share and understand someone else’s feelings and emotions. Every person cannot have this ability to understand and share someone’s pain, joy, sorrow or even positive emotions such as joy, happiness, thrill etc. Only those who have seen hard times can console and provide sympathy to a person who is facing a hard time. Once a wearer of a shoe can only know where the shoe pinches. In this context, Anderson had remarked that, “Anyone who has experienced a certain amount of loss in their life has empathy for those who have experienced loss.”
