To err is human and no man on this earth is without faults. But it needs a lot of courage and magnanimity to accept the faults and try to rectify them. John Ruskin said, “Bad men excuse their faults, good men abandon them”. When faults are pointed out, it is very natural to wear the mask of pride and tries to conceal the fault. True friends try to point out the faults and this has to be accepted without any hard feelings.
“When you have faults, do not fear to abandon them” said Confucius. Another common mistake is that when we try to find fault with others, we tend to magnify them to greater proportions. This is absolutely wrong and the magnitude of the faults should not be magnified. When the faults are rectified, we refine ourselves and expand our circle of friendship and make this world a better place to live in.
