Fidelity generally means faithfulness or loyalty to a person or belief. Infidelity is contrary to fidelity. Fidelity, when it comes to relationships means being loyal to your partner and an absence of adultery. Fidelity is required for a relationship to persist and stand the test of time. Dog is said to be a very faithful animal who teaches fidelity to a boy. In the words of Robert Benchley, “A dog teaches a boy fidelity, perseverance, and to turn around three times before lying down.”
Fidelity also means the accuracy or exactness to which a thing can be copied or reproduced from a source. In scientific modelling terms, the degree to which a model correctly reproduces the state of a real world object is called fidelity. It is the realism of a model or simulation. Wi-Fi is a technology that is extremely popular and has nothing to do with the fidelity concept.
