Television is a telecommunication medium for transmitting and receiving messages that can be multicoloured or monochromatic. The word “television” basically refers to a television set. Television was invented by J.L. Baird. Television is basically rectangular box but this box is actually a great source of entertainment for all and sundry. Groucho Marx had once remarked, “I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book.” Television has several channels that provide us entertainment as well as our daily dose of news and awareness.
