Goals or objectives may be set on a personal or organizational level. Goals are the desired end-points of personal or organizational plans or missions. Setting of goals is the first step towards accomplishing them. Before setting a goal or aim, you need to pretty clear about it in your mind. The vision of a goal needs to be very clear. Larry Bird had once remarked, “A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals.”
The 21st century is not merely the age of setting goals, but it is the age of scoring them. To score goals or to accomplish them, there is no other way except sweat and toil. You need to be focussed and committed towards your goal or ambition, and then only you can get close to achieving your goal. Donald Rumsfeld had once said, “Amidst all the clutter, beyond all the obstacles, aside from all the static, are the goals set. Put your head down, do the best job possible, let the flak pass, and work towards those goals.”
