The word “influence” means to affect someone’s thought or bent of mind. People can be influenced by flattery, coaxing or cajoling. When someone gets influenced, he or she changes his intentions or ideas. People who get easily influenced by others are those who don’t have belief and conviction in their own thoughts. Movies and other entertainment forms influence people’s frame of mind to a great extent. In this context, Walt Disney had once remarked, “Movies can and do have tremendous influence in shaping young lives in the realm of entertainment towards the ideals and objectives of normal adulthood. “
Social influence means influence in interpersonal relationships. Sphere of influence means the region around a celestial body where orbiting objects experience gravitational force.
Aldous Huxley had once said, “Writers write to influence their readers, their preachers, their auditors, but always, at bottom, to be more themselves.”
