Jealousy is a negative feeling which is similar to envy. You feel jealous of someone when he or she possesses something that you don’t have. It might be money, some unique personality trait or any kind of achievement made by a person because of which he or she is envied by his or her contemporaries. In Christian Mythology, jealousy has been regarded as the green-eyed monster which mocks the meat that it feeds on. Jealousy is not considered a positive feeling in any way.
Jealousy has been considered to be the love bed of the burning snarl. In the words of Aristotle, “Jealousy is both reasonable and belongs to reasonable men, while envy is base and belongs to the base, for the one makes himself get good things by jealousy, while the other does not allow his neighbour to have them through envy.”
