Never back down or give up on any commitment. A person who keeps his words and promises will never back down. It is very rare that you find people who stick to their commitments. Before you make a commitment, do a lot of deliberation. Once you have thought over something and are firm about your decision, chances are that you will never back down and keep your commitment alive in any condition whatsoever.
Backing down from a position or designation is also not advised. If you are entrusted with some responsibility, try to shoulder the responsibility well and earn the respect and appreciation from those people who considered you credible enough to take that responsibility. If you back down and shirk responsibilities and roles that are given to you, you can never grow up the corporate ladder or move to a better designation at work. So, do your work whole-heartedly and never back down from any position.
