Providence refers to the idea or belief of divine ordained events and outcomes. Providence may also refer to prudence in utilising one’s resources and economy. Frugality is also an interpretation for the word. The act of providing or preparing for future use or application is also called providence. In the words of John Adams, “I always consider the settlement of America with reverence and wonder, as the opening of a grand scene and design in providence, for the illumination of the ignorant and the emancipation of the slavish part of mankind all over the earth.”
