Racism is racial discrimination or prejudice based on the color of the skin or birth. After all, the skin is only a few millimeters deep and to discriminate on its basis, is the height of ignorance. Abraham J Hershel was right when he said, “racism is man’s gravest threat to man-the maximum of hatred for a minimum of reason”. We have seen so many people affected due to racism and have been deprived of the basic human rights that their fellow whites enjoy. But the peril of racism is that when it suppressed more, it gains the ability to gain newer heights and is sure to rebound which will be very hard to tackle. “The African race is a rubber ball. The harder you dash it to the ground, the higher it will rise “says one African proverb. So, the time should come when the word racism is found only in dictionaries and all men are treated alike with equal rights to live.
