Sleep is a natural recurring state that is marked by absence or lack of consciousness. When a person is sleeping, all his voluntary muscles are inactive and have relatively suspended sensory activity. The state of sleep is marked by decrease in response to stimuli and is more reversible than the state of coma. Sleep is basically a very essential anabolic activity that helps to revitalise the nervous, skeletal, muscular systems and is observed in all mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish. Sleep is important to rejuvenate both body and mind since a sound mind lies in a sound body. After work and exertion throughout the day, you need to sleep for some hours at a stretch.
