Washington is the capital of the United States of America. Washington is located in the Pacific Northwest region of United States, north of Oregon, south of British Columbia. It was admitted to the union as the 42nd state in 1889. According to the consensus in 2010, the population of US was 6,724, 540. In the words of Barrack Obama, “It's time to fundamentally change the way that we do business in Washington. To help build a new foundation for the 21st century, we need to reform our government so that it is more efficient, more transparent, and more creative. That will demand new thinking and a new sense of responsibility for every dollar that is spent.” Washington was named after George Washington, the first President of United States and is the only state in USA to be named after any president. Washington is also referred to as Washington DC where DC stands for the District of Columbia. Washington is the northwestern most state of the contiguous United States.
