Wine is a type of alcoholic beverage. It is actually fermented fruit juice. Grape wine is made after fermenting crushed grapes in the presence of yeast. Wine is a popular drink at royal, official and casual dinners. Ample varieties of grapes and yeasts are used to produce different varieties of wine. Wine was first manufactured some 8000 years ago in Georgia. Wine has always had some religious importance in history. Dionysus, the Greek God and Bacchus, the Roman God both represented wine. Wine can be made from other fruits too such as apple and berries when they are known as apple wine and elder berry wine. People have wine together when they celebrate but since it is alcoholic, it should be consumed in some restricted amount rather than in excess. In the words of Charlie Trotter, “All four elements were happening in equal measure - the cuisine, the wine, the service, and the overall ambience. It taught me that dining could happen at a spiritual level.”
