Wonder means to look at something with surprise and astonishment. You wonder and are thrown into frenzy at times when the least unexpected things materialise or occur. This is one interpretation of the word “wonder” when used as a verb. Another interpretation of the word “wonder” is something that is phenomenal and stands out. People who are prodigies and excel at their work are touted as wonder kids or even wunderkind is a term that is used to express such people. Any person or thing which drives you into a state of wonder is said to wonderful. The word “wonderful” is an adjective that can be used for anything that drives you into wonder. In the words of Albert Einstein, “He who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead; his eyes are closed. The process of scientific discovery is, in effect, a continual flight from wonder.”
