Doubt is the opposite of belief. Doubt is temporary disbelief in your ability to accomplish, and it neutralizes your power to achieve your goals. When you do not believe achieving a goal is possible, chances are you will not achieve it no matter how badly you wish you could and no matter how many strategies you apply. The greater the distance between where you are and where you want to be, the easier it is for doubt to become a factor.
