It's been said that freedom is never having to say you're sorry. But those who are resigned to never saying sorry just gives them an excuse to in fact 'be sorry'. Showing no contrition is rooted in not wanting to have a guilty conscious. So if you continuously get away with not having to say you're sorry, the victim(s) eventually become the offending party because they have given the original offender license to never feel guilt. And never feeling guilt, in my opinion, is as sorry as it gets.
