Anorexia is an eating disorder characterized by immoderate food restriction and irrational fear of gaining weight, as well as a distorted body self-perception. It typically involves excessive weight loss and usually occurs more in females than in males. Anorexic people are lean and thin. Anorexia makes your body weak and saps the needed energy to perform daily tasks.
Anorexia is an unhealthy disease and is the exact opposite of obesity. Consciously eating a healthy and balanced diet can overcome anorexia. The body weight should lie in the normal range as per the body BMR or the Basal Metabolic Rate. An underweight or anorexic person remains depleted of vitality and strength that is essential to sustain all body activities. Being anorexic or underweight is not at all healthy. Anorexia can be overcome by making conscious and constant efforts towards leading a healthy lifestyle.
