Exploration means travelling through an unfamiliar area in order to learn about it. Such an exploration may be for some particular purpose also like oil exploration, which involves searching and surveying probable sites where oil is found. In the words of Apsley Cherry-Garrard, “Polar explanation is at once the cleanest and most isolated way of having a bad time which has been devised.”
Exploration can also refer to the act of examining or discussing about something particular, in detail. To explore can also mean to investigate regarding something. In the words of T.S. Eliot, “We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.” Exploration only helps in knowing the details of something, finding out its intricacies and going to its depths. Exploration should be done, whenever you feel the need of knowing the petty details of something.
