Scepticism pertains to an undecided or doubtful state of mind. The mind of a sceptic individual is always baffled and keeps on inquiring and asking many unnecessary questions. Scepticism pertains to the inquisitive attitude towards theories, opinions and facts. Sceptics may even doubt the reliability and proper functioning of their own senses. In the words of Bertrand Russell, “Dogmatism and scepticism are both, in a sense, absolute philosophies; one is certain of knowing, the other of not knowing. What philosophy should dissipate is certainty, whether of knowledge or ignorance.”
Sceptics doubt several beliefs and theories that have been propounded. They object and raise questions against truth or revelations. They deny the divine origin of the Christian Religion or the truth of God.
