Theft is basically the act of stealing with the purpose of depriving the owner from his own possessions. Theft is serious felony and involves the act of taking and removing someone’s personal property. Theft or the act of stealing aims to deprive the rightful owner who owns the same stuff that is stolen. Thus, theft is regarded as a crime in the eyes of law. Theft may also involve killing the owner whose property or articles are stolen. In such cases, thefts become of more serious or hideous nature. Thefts which involve killing of one or more people are serious acts of misdemeanour or felonies which should be dealt strictly by the law and the guilty or the convict should be brought to book and given some serious punishment. In the words of Marquis De Sade, “All, all is theft, all is unceasing and rigorous competition in nature; the desire to make off with the substance of others is the foremost - the most legitimate - passion nature has bred into us and, without doubt, the most agreeable one.”
