Virtue is the good quality or character of a person. There are various kinds of definitions and interpretations given to the word virtue. But basically, it is the quality that every one should possess in order to gain good name and fame. Wisdom is knowing what to do next; skill is knowing how to do it and virtue is doing it. Robert Lynd says, “Any of us can achieve virtue if by virtue we merely mean the avoidance of the vices that do not attract us”. But the saddening fact is that people who possess virtue are not appreciated as much as they deserve. When they fail from their top position, they are noticed and given undue attention. Mae West points out, “virtue has its own reward, but no sale at the box office”. But irrespective of whether the virtue is appreciated or rewarded, it is our duty to live a life filled with virtue.
