Wilderness is basically a natural land or environmental region that has not been transformed by any human activity. Wilderness regions are the most intact, undisturbed, peaceful and preserved natural areas of this planet. Wilderness regions are hugely important since they act as storehouses of rich biodiversity and help in conservation of several species of plants and animals. According to George Aiken, “As one who has often felt this need, and who has found refreshment in wild places, I attest to the recreational value of wilderness.”Wilderness regions are also an ideal place to enjoy the bliss of solitude and peace and get some recreation in the process. Wilderness areas have their own significance because they have their own moral, cultural, spiritual as well as aesthetic value. In the words of Michael K. Simpson, “For a variety of reasons, I believe, the time is right to resolve many of the long standing and thorny land use, recreation, and wilderness designation issues in Central Idaho.”
