Fishing is the basic activity of catching fish or other aquatic animals including mollusc, cephalopods, echinoderms etc. There are several techniques to catch fish like netting, hand gathering, angling, trapping and spearing. Fishing is quite an engaging activity for someone who practices it as a past time. Fishing is a recreational activity for many people. In the words of Herbert Hoover, “Fishing is much more than fish. It is the great occasion when we may return to the fine simplicity of our forefathers.”
Fisheries and aquaculture provide direct and indirect employment to several people worldwide. Fishing is actually a source of pastime as well as employment. In the words of Rex Hunt, “
