Graduation is the act of conferring or receiving any academic degree at the college level. Graduation can be done in any field of specialisation such as commerce, science, technology, medicine etc. Graduation is preceded by school life and post graduation can be pursued after graduation, if someone wants to pursue further studies. Before graduation, candidates are called Graduands. The day of degree is called the graduation day. Robert Orben had once remarked, “Graduation ceremony is an event where the commencement speaker tells thousands of students dressed in identical caps and gowns that 'individuality' is the key to success.”
Graduation involves commencement, convocation or invocation. Graduation is mandatory in
today’s world. Julie Taymor had once remarked, “Americans in particular are myopic. They're not travelling as much. When you were a college student, the next thing you would do on graduation was to take a year off and travel. That's what I did. I went to Indonesia.”
