Green Day is an American rock band, which was formed in the year, 1987. The band is a collaboration of three musicians with the lead vocalist and guitarist being Billie Joe Armstrong, back up vocalist and bassist as Mike Dirnt and drummer Tre’ Cool. Green Day’s major debut “Dookie” created waves across the US and was a runaway success. The next three albums namely Insomniac, Nimrod and Warning did not achieve success of the level of Dookie though, but managed to reach double platinum and gold levels. Jonny Greenwood had once remarked, “Right now my mind is on the people who stole our instruments, and, specifically, the person with my guitar, which will no doubt end its days having Green Day songs worked out on it. A better fate was deserved - and while the reverence given to guitars annoys me, I shall miss it.” green Day has achieved several accolades and Grammy awards for the Best Alternative Album for Dookie, Best Record of the year for their runway hit, “Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” Best Rock Album for “American Idiot” and 21st century breakdown” respectively.
