The word inferiority refers to being low in order, rank or degree when it comes to positions in office. It might also refer to being low or lower in quality, value or estimation. Inferiority differs from superiority because it is totally a contradictory term. In the society, woman is always deemed to be inferior to men. In the words of Simone De Beauvoir, “Society, being codified by man, decrees that woman is inferior; she can do away with this inferiority only by destroying the male's superiority.”
Inferiority complex refers to the feeling when you consider yourself lowly or inferior while comparing yourself to others. This is what makes comparisons odious. In the words of Alan Kay, “Some people worry that artificial intelligence will make us feel inferior, but then, anybody in his right mind should have an inferiority complex every time he looks at a flower.”
