The cult of the jellyfish is no less an imposition of a religious movement than is the cult of the dinosaur. When designing a methodology it is undoubtedly far easier to construct a system that discourages individual differences, than it is to construct a system that that leverages and encourages them, but that does not mean that a methodology designed for an array of idealized entities will be the most productive, successful, or rewarding one. Choosing a cult methodology to be applied to a professional class is often an economic one, treating individuality as undesirable reduces the professional to the proletariat, seen as less expensive and readily replaceable.

Historical methodology, as I see it, is a product of common sense applied to circumstances.

Verbal and nonverbal activity is a unified whole, and theory and methodology should be organized or created to treat it as such.

Every discourse, even a poetic or oracular sentence, carries with it a system of rules for producing analogous things and thus an outline of methodology.

Who knows the minds of men and how they reason and what their methodology is? But I am not going to extrapolate from the General Conference backing out on my book and make it a personal issue.

This is largely the methodology I've used throughout my career - that is, starting with a question as to what might be the properties of a set of compounds that could be invented which were unusual and unpredictable. Many times I've felt a bit like Columbus setting sail.

I don't really consider myself to be an actor of any particular style. My aim with every role I undertake is to be truthful and honest in that particular portrayal. I don't have a particular methodology from any one school of thought or training.

Now why should the cinema follow the forms of theater and painting rather than the methodology of language, which allows wholly new concepts of ideas to arise from the combination of two concrete denotations of two concrete objects?

Courses on historical methodology are not worth the time that they take up. I shall never give one myself, and I have observed that many of my colleagues who do give such courses refrain from exemplifying their methods by writing anything.

Ben was more improvisational, and relied less on methodology, and basically is a guitarist who switched to bass, whereas Jeff has a more traditional approach to playing bass in a band, and has a great sense of what his band sounds like, and we lock up nicely.

Reich and John Cage were pretty big influences on this record Folie A Deux in weird ways in that you wouldn't necessarily hear any of it - nothing ends up sounding like either of them, but I think just methodology and things like that ended up on the record in various ways.

Wherever pragmatism exits in the church, there is always a corresponding de-emphasis on Christ's sufficiency, God's sovereignty, biblical integrity, the power of prayer, and Spirit-led ministries. The result is a man-centered ministry that attempts to accomplish divine purposes by superficial programs and human methodology rather than by the Word or the power of the Spirit.

For me the starting point for everything, before strategy, tactics, theories, managing, organizing, philosophy, methodology, talent, or experience, is work ethic. Without one of significant magnitude you're dead in the water, finished. I knew the example I set as head coach would be what others in the organization would recognize as the standard they needed to match at least, most of them would recognize it. If there is such a thing as a trickle-down effect, that's it. Your staff sees your devotion to work, their people see them, and on through the organization.
