The term ugly is used to describe someone who has a very unpleasant and shabby look. People find ugly people quite unattractive and some don’t even like to bond with them. When you are ugly, you mostly repel people rather than attracting them or drawing them closer to you. Emily Bronte had once remarked, “A good heart will help you to a bonny face, my lad and a bad one will turn the bonniest into something worse than ugly.” Being ugly is something that is not a taboo. People look geek and ugly when they do not make an effort to look smart and attractive. The transition from an ugly duckling into a swan is the most called for at this stage, when people just cannot accept you as a part of their social circle because they find you ugly and unattractive. Thomas Hardy had once remarked, “A woman would rather visit her own grave than the place where she has been young and beautiful after she is aged and ugly.”
