True Friends Can Grow Separately Without Growing Apart

Everyone needs room to grow, and if we stay the same our whole lives then in fact there is something wrong. In growing up, we have to grow separately so that we can grow into our full spiritual bodies. Finding yourself is necessary for sustaining happiness in your life, and any true friend with good intentions will know that.

This is not to say that there won't be disagreements along the way, and that your sets of standards, and guidelines for your own life won't differ from someone that you may have grown accustomed to agreeing with, but true friends never let disagreements pull them apart.

You can grow separately without growing apart, and any true friend that you have will easily recognize this, instead of trying to condemn you for becoming yourself more and more each day.

Never forget how much you really mean. If someone doesn't treat or value your friendship and takes your love for granted, then it may be time to either communicate the way you feel so that a change may be made, or it may be time to give them much less of yourself.

Sometimes in life we have to decipher the time to be a true friend or the time to be a true lover, and realize when the time is to let go of someone who is in our lives. It has been said to believe who someone is the first time that they show you who they are, and to never hold on to someone who doesn't want to be held on to. A great friend is a friend that will be there for you when you need for them to be. Before you can really know what a true friend should be to you, you have to be willing to learn about yourself. What standards do you have for your own life, what is acceptable in your eyes, and what do you expect that others do in relation to certain situations that may pertain to you. You also have to realize that not everyone will believe in the same guidelines for their lives that you may, and at some point in your life, you will have to compromise to make sure that you may maintain a relationship.
