You could tell him the only way your son can come to his girlfriends house is if you can come and stay for a few hours to make sure you and your son is comfortable with the situation and if he don't want to do that then don't worry about it. A good father would agree to that.
I can understand your concern and you are right in your place but you need to explain it to him. If he still doesn't understand then he doesn't care about his son.
