The same thing literally just happened to me! It hurts so much even though you know you're better off without them. You feel this way because you put so much effort in to letting this person in. You trusted them & they broke that trust. You go back to keeping to yourself because you know everyone leaves. You're tired of being played. You just want someone who cares & listens, to stay.
