I believe that some people look at a sexual preference as a lifestyle, straight, non straight, menage a trois, couples, multiple wives,etc. Some do not choose to discuss sexual preferences in common talk so it can be embarassing to some people to discuss. I do not think that the people are hated as much as the sexual preference. I think that most people do not care what you do in your bedroom they just do not want to discuss it over lunch at work.
