Commitment in itself is not virtuous. Desperation in itself is not a crime. Both rely on one's ideals and beliefs. Saying you are committed is you realizing there is a light at the end of the tunnel and actually being committed is you being determined to get to the end of the tunnel. And your level of determination often rests on your level of desperation to arrive. Since the light at the end of the tunnel has, for each traveler's own reason become their paradise, commitment is tied to how desperate we are to get to heaven. But since there is no heaven without commitment, and the desired light can be different for any and all, I choose to take more solace in the heaven of journey than the heaven of destination.
