This is what you shall do: love the earth and sun, and animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence towards the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown, or to any man or number of men; go freely with the powerful uneducated persons, and with the young, and mothers, of families: read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life: re-examine all you have been told at school or church, or in any books, and dismiss whatever insults your soul.

I've been making a list of the things they don't teach you at school. They don't teach you how to love somebody. They don't teach you how to be famous. They don't teach you how to be rich or how to be poor. They don't teach you how to walk away from someone you don't love any longer. They don't teach you how to know what's going on in someone else's mind. They don't teach you what to say to someone who's dying. They don't teach you anything worth knowing.

I grew up with nothing and nobody ever told me I could do anything. I never knew my father, and my mother wasnt the best, most stable person. My grandparents raised me, and my grandmother never really connected with me. I just had a home. So I was kind of left to my own self. When I found out that nobody had ever graduated from high school in our family, I wanted to be the first one to graduate. By the time I was 11, I wanted to be a comedian. So all those years later, Ive managed to achieve my dream as a kid, and it wasnt easy. Im on the Walk of Fame and Im one of the 25 most influential Hispanics in America, according to Time Magazine. I think my duty is to go back and tell kids, Whatever color you are, wherever you come from, anything and everything is possible. And Im living proof.

Look at you. You're young. And you're scared. Why are you so scared? Stop being paralyzed. Stop swallowing your words. Stop caring what other people think. Wear what you want. Say what you want. Listen to the music you want to listen to. Play it as loud as you want and dance to it. Go out for a drive at midnight and forget you have school the next day. Stop waiting for Friday. Live now. Do it now. Take risks. Tell secrets. This life is yours. When are you going to realize that you can do whatever you want?

My schedule on 'True Blood' has kept me from the big action movies. There's been serious interest in me for big action pictures, and we can't fit them into my hiatus from the series. I have a contract. I can't walk away from it. And I wouldn't want to. But for a kid who grew up loving action pictures and comic books, that move seems like a no-brainer. Since graduating from a classical theater school, I've consciously tried to turn myself into the kind of adult actor who would make the sort of comic book superhero that I would have wanted to see when I was a kid. I hope that happens, someday. It's just a matter of when it comes up and what it is.

I was never on a mission to be an NFL quarterback. I wanted to be a good high school player, and I worked hard at that. That made me good enough to play in college and then I wanted to be a good college quarterback. During college I played well enough to make it into the NFL. I never took it for granted and really wanted to play hard at each level and I have always had a lot of fun doing what I wanted to do.

Steve: This is it. I have absolute power. (Over intercom) Doris, could you please send in our high school mascot? (Man dressed in a buffalo costume comes in) Welcome, buffalo. As you must've heard, I have been elected student body President. As such, I can do anything I want... and I want to ride the buffalo! (Steve jumps on mascot's back) Woo hoo hoo!! Buffalo: MOOOO!!!! (Destroys everything in the office) Steve: Yes, yes! I'm riding the buffalo! (Buffalo falls, Steve gets off, Doris comes in) Now, send in the lunch lady.

I started dancing when I was young, and I was a dancer my whole life until I got to high school and got into cheerleading. When I was dancing I would dance three times a week and compete on the weekends, and all I did was dance. I would tell my parents that I didn't want to dance and wanted to play other sports like soccer. My mom always said "No, you're going to break your legs, you have to keep dancing." I always complained about it, and now my mom is like, 'Oh, so now see where dancing has gotten you.' I also won a dance competition to become a Nitro Girl for WCW. And now who knows what will happen because I'll be in a dance competition on national television. So, I have to thank my parents for pushing me into dancing when I was growing up. I'm not only going to do this for myself, but I want to do this for every WWE fan out there.

I moved to L.A. and did a couple of pilots and a couple of series, and I was frustrated at the time, because it's a very frustrating business, especially for women. I hit a wall, and said I'm tired of auditioning for the bimbos and young, nave girls. I went back to school for environmental and interior design and told my agent I was just not interested in anything unless it was brilliant or showed women as intelligent. One day my manager called and said there's this great script you should read. My first reaction was, 'Ugh, lesbians for cable? It's going to be the 'Red Shoe Diaries'; I'm not interested!' She said, 'Just read it, it's different.' And she was right, that was the only project I auditioned for that whole summer and my life changed.

Megan and I so despise the paparazzi. We value our private life and our time at home. The last thing I want is to be ducking in and out of places because Im worried about my picture being taken, especially when Im with my son. When they follow me in cars when I pick him up from school, thats really crossing the line. I understand that they want shots of me with Megan, but were pretty boring. They wont catch us out at clubs, getting drunk or being hauled in for DUIs. All they usually get is pictures of us leaving Staples or Target, or walking into a restaurant. But when they start taking shots of me taking out my garbage in the morning, I mean, whats that about? To my mind, the law needs to be changed to help create a safer environment for actors and celebrities.

My favorite on-screen moment has to be when John and I filmed our dinner scene on the roof during 'The Client.' There was a very small crew up on the roof and they had the cameras really far away. There was a warm breeze and Rainn and Brian were off in the distance setting off really lame fireworks. The whole thing just felt magical. I also love anytime I get to do a party planning scene. Angela, Phyllis and Kate are all so funny. We laugh a lot during those scenes. They are so subtle and passive/aggressive. I love it! My favorite off-screen moment is probably our weekly viewing parties. We have such a great time watching the show together. We cheer for the writer and congratulate cast members for particularly funny bits in the show. Oh, runner-up for best off-screen moment would be how much John made us all laugh when we were filming 'The Fire.' We had to stand outside in the heat for hours but he made us laugh by doing imitations of Angela getting carried away by a giant bug. It was pretty great.

In high school, there are so many cliques. You're never safe. In between my junior and senior years, I went away to film Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and I came back ready to do the things with my friends that we always did, but things change. People get older, and there are some inside jokes that you don't know about that have happened. You feel lost for a while, and it's hard to come back from that. Then the friends who have 'replaced' you are territorial. I've experienced that a little bit. There are catty, insecure, and gossipy girls everywhere, but for me, I don't think it's a matter of any of them being genuinely bad at heart. I just think that maybe the different ways in which people are raised make them different and insecure. They point out the bad things in others just to make themselves feel better. It's everywhere.

Hey. I'm a girl. I'll make a big deal out of small things. I'll get jealous easily. I'll cry if I get a broke heart or if my feelings are hurt. I'll have multiple loves and multiple crushes and I know I'll have many heartbreaks. I'll complain to the people I care about. I'll be gossiped about. I'll gossip about others. I might not make the best choices. I'll get mad, happy, and sad easily. I might spend too much time on something. I might give someone to much time, when they don't deserve it. I'll have more guy friends than girls, maybe. My makeup will have to be pretty close to perfect for me to go to school or out in public. I am wanting to impress somebody specific each day. but hey. I'm a girl...that's kinda my job.

"Since I'm only 24 years old, guess I have as good an insight into this rising generation as any other young man my age. And I've discovered that most young men do not stand like ramrods or talk like Demosthenes. Therefore, when I do play a youth, such as in Warner Bros. Rebel Without A Cause, I try to imitate life. The picture deals with the problems of modern youth. It is the romanticized conception of the juvenile that causes much of our trouble with misguided youth nowadays. I think the one thing this picture shows that's new is the psychological disproportion of the kids' demands on the parents. Parents are often at fault, but the kids have some work to do, too. But you can't show some far off idyllic conception of behavior if you want the kids to come and see the picture. You've got to show what it's really like, and try to reach them on their own grounds. You know, a lot of times an older boy, one of the fellows the young ones idolize, can go back to the high school kids and tel

Whatever people say, I do think there is a good side to Wall Street. It was created almost as a civic service to fund our wars. It wasnt created for this greedy, self-indulgent Get rich mentality. It wasnt always that way and its not always that way now. Its not all of them who are corrupt and the guys that Ive met arent that way. They do a lot of good things and raise a lot of money for charity. Theyll raise $70 million in a night. Its easy to just point fingers at the rich guys, but there are a lot of quality people who arent motivated solely by greed. I think what you end up with often on Wall Street is the guys who couldnt make it onto the sports team at school; a lot of them wanted to be competitive athletes and found themselves in finance, which is just as competitive a field. Its a kill or be killed mentality. Its very competitive worse than Hollywood. I still trade every morning. I come from poverty and its like night and day. My mother laughs about it: she went on welfare, we had no money and now Im trading $300,000 in the morning. Its outrageous.
