I always felt there had to be a great 'Jason nightmare' or the movie wouldn't work and how Jason and Freddy would get together was always a problem for me. As time went by, we needed to re-integrate the back stories on both monsters in the script. Now all those things are accomplished amazingly and amazingly fast, I think. You're going to have to surrender a little bit to the contrivance of how Freddy and Jason get together. Freddy literally needs Jason.
We feel there is already widespread broadband available today.
Friday Night Lights is really a dream.
And in Freddy vs. Jason I like when Jason and I double team Destiny's Child.
Let's face it. I am small potatoes as J.Lo is coming in. But I am so honored to be part of the process.
But I did have two months off between Loser and the start of Prozac Nation. So, it was supposed to be Jason time, right? My time to enjoy myself away from movies.
Maybe its the advantage of shooting in Austin, because once were there and filming, we dont pay attention to whats going on. Were just down there in our little Texas heaven and not worried about the future.
I would say I think Jason is going to lose and Freddy will win. I don't know why. I just feel that Freddy is more maniacal and thinks more than Jason does.
For the moment, let them enjoy a calm sea, a fresh breeze and each other. The girl is pretty and I am always sentimental. But for Jason, there are other adventures. I have not finished with Jason. Let us continue the game another day.
It's a great Jason scene with Freddy getting in at the end of it. It's just structurally such a wonderful relentless, Jason the mindless shark feeding at a rave scene. It's just the perfect thing. The rhythms, the geometry of the corn field. It's really going to be a famous sequence, I think.
Once we're all working together it's really important that we're all working together as peers. So I never look at them as inexperienced or even really younger, I look at them as they are characters in the show. Certainly sometimes we'll be in a conversation and I'll realize like, 'Oh, are they asking me for advice?' I've actually resisted that dynamic a lot just because I respect all of them and I think they're all great.
The place of my birth, and residence for nearly sixteen years, in the early part of my life, became endeared to my feelings and affections; and more especially so after I had quitted it for an unknown place, and to associate with strangers.
Having to cut the season short in December, that was kind of devastating, we didn't get to finish the season, we said goodbye and we didn't know if it was for the last time or not.
Once were all working together its really important that were all working together as peers. So I never look at them as inexperienced or even really younger, I look at them as they are characters in the show. Freddy has a couple of great sequences in the film, but he's kind of like the puppet master in this for a while. What's great about Freddy in this is when he gets to comment and manipulate the back stories and the fears of the characters...especially with Jason. I'll just give you a hint: Freddy meets baby Jason. Ok...it's great, it's just really sick stuff.
I always serve the writer first because I'm English trained, even though I'm American. I don't protect my own ass, I protect the writer's ass first. That's where it all starts: writer knows best and the writer is my first god, then I serve the director, then I serve myself. Actually Jason's mother has this piece of dialogue I've been using as an image. I always get inspiration from whatever characters say about my character. So I use this piece of Jason's mother's dialogue where she calls him a 'big stupid dog.' I've been thinking of Jason as a huge stupid dog and Freddy as just like a little yap-yap junkyard dog.
Ive never been a huge fan. Ive always enjoyed watching football but Ive never been an avid fan. My family always loved it.
I've always, always loved comedy and dramatic work equally. In an ideal world I'm in a role where I get to actually do both just because the truth is, in my experience, a rich life has extraordinarily funny moments and also extraordinarily intense moments and those are the kind of lives that I want to portray in characters.

Groundedness is the quality I always want to be there, even if Im playing a neurotic character, or a woman with a rambunctious sex life, like Nikki in Spin City. What does that mean, anyway? It means Nikkis a solid, savvy woman whos searching for something to fulfill herself. I always try to find the strength in any character I play, thats just my thing. I figure as long as I do that Im happy, and if they dont like it, screw em.
