Don't Recycle The Past
Trying to recycle the past is like trying to save a totally black, half a year old banana, an almost impossible and worthless feat if accomplished at all. Instead of trying to recycle the past we should mainly be focused on living the best life that we can today progressing towards the dreams that we desire to fulfill ourselves in the future.

Remember that trying to live in a place that you feel was the best time of your life, will only limit your future, and will only distract you from experiencing your present, which should be the best time in your life yet! Though it is very important to cherish the memories that we have made in the past, for they helped to make us who we are now, we must always remember that the person we were in the past does not limit the heights that we can climb if we are willing to try our hardest to climb to reach them.

The Past Is A Good Place To Visit, But Not To Stay
Past is a good place to visit but certainly not a good place to stay.
The memories that we make in life with the people and the things that we adore in each moment are memories that we should cherish for the rest of our lives. Memories are made for us to be able to look back upon, and appreciate times that were good, when we are in periods of despair, and also to help us overcome situations that arise in our present and future that we have answers to because of the things that we experienced in our pasts.

Leave The Past Where It Belongs
Leave the past where it belongs.
When we deal with ourselves and when we deal with life on an ongoing basis sometimes we struggle with receiving what is meant for us for our future because of the pain that we have experienced in the past. Some of us choose to let our pasts dictate what we do in the present because we are too afraid to fail in anything again. Doing so affects us greatly as it may make us miss great opportunities to develop relationships with new people, and it may also keep us from going through doors we probably would have seen if we weren't too busy looking backwards.

Don't Let Yesterday Use Up Too Much Of Today
Don't let yesterday use up too much of today.
Letting yesterday use up too much of today is one of man's biggest hurdles to overcome. When we live a life full of looking back in the past, we may easily overlook things we should have seen if we were focused more intently on looking forward in life.

There's Always Something Good In Everyone
Everyone may not be good, but there's always something good in everyone. Never judge anyone shortly because every saint has a past and every sinner has a future.
Not only is judging wrong, but it also opens a scope upon ourselves opening up our own lives for examination when we are willing to do so. Not everything that everyone is willing to do may be good, but that doesn't mean that there is no good whatsoever in the person.

The Shadow Of The Past Holds The Future Hostage
The shadow of the past holds the future hostage.
The shadow of the past will hold the future hostage only if you let it. The wonderful thing about life is that we all have a chance in every single second of it to change our future. Think about it, with every breath we take, with every thought we think, and with every word we utter, we have the chance to become someone who we never presented ourselves as before.

Those Who Live In The Past Limit Their Future
Those who live in the past limit their future.
Living in the past can be one of the biggest inhibitors in a person's life to seeing the things that their future will have to offer. In order to achieve the brightest future possible we must resist trying to light up the darkness that is our past. Don't let your past mistakes, and past regrets stop you from becoming the person that you want to become.

Learning From The Past
Ah yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it.
Bad experiences were never designed to make you not feel a little bit of pain when you think about them. We are given the choice to either run from the past we once lived through, or we can learn from the past we once lived through. When we choose to run from our past, we are making a conscious choice to try and avoid problems that we will have to keep facing over and over again, choices that we have no option but to face one day, and choices that we will never get past until we choose to stop running.

Let Your Past Make You Better Not Bitter
Let your past make you better, not bitter.
There are generally only two options that we have when we deal with our pasts. We can choose to let our pasts limit us, and make us bitter, or we can choose to let our pasts make us better. We must understand that who we were in the past is nowhere equal to the person that we can be in the future. The trials and tribulations that we experienced in our pasts may not be held as a guarantee that our future will be full of the same tribulation and pain.

Forgiving Yourself
You have the right to forgive yourself anytime you want.
In every single person's life lies a mistake made by a person that they wish they could take back, whether they are ready to admit it or not. The only way to move past the regret of a mistake in our lives that still causes us pain is to forgive yourself for it. Not only is it our right to, but forgiving our selves allows us to move past obstacles in our lives that we would not have otherwise moved past without doing so.

Don't Let The Past Define You
You can only put the past away for so long, there will be days it comes rushing back.
Trying to put your past away is like trying to get rid of a tattoo. Even with newer technology these days, such as laser technology for tattoo removal, the tattoos imprint will more than likely still be on your body for the rest of your life. Whether you want it to be there or not, you will more than likely always have a reminder of what was on your body at a certain point in time. Just as tattoos never leave us, neither do our memories.
