Religion and its associated culture has a powerful hold on a people. It defines who they are. Parents want to see their children take that into their future. I once saw this Hindu Mother, standing by the gate of her house crying & calling out the name of her Daughter who was walking away down the streets. Her Daughter was going to get baptist in the Christian faith that morning & she too had tears in her eyes as she walked away. The mother was crying and calling her back. Her daughter was walking away from a Faith that held them together for thousands of years. I felt both their pain. But when our heart speak to us on sacred things, we often listen and respond and it is never an easy thing.
