Whatever way you choose to break up, someone is always going to get their heart broken right? I don't believe there is any "perfect" way as such. Have you tried sorting it out before coming to this crossroad? If not, being honest and open about why you want to end it, is the best way. You are not responsible for their feelings/emotions etc. Allow them the time to deal with it. But don't parade a new relationship in public the next week! Wait a while before that...
