Empty mind is lack of stimulation... stimulate your mind in a way you believe is not likened to "devil" and bear the fruits of a satisfied life... You hole the key. No such thing as "devil" only your belief in what is wrong

Hmm. Its difficult to say. First thing our Mind never remain empty its always filled with memories n thoughts whether positive or negative. Its up to us how we use all this when we are alone. We can use them for being happy or doing some bad thing driven by negative thoughts.

This is a tricky question.This belief comes about from the assumption that the devil is stupid,which he most definitely is not.He is clever and doesn't look for the simple to carry out his evil. While he does not look for the simple he searches out those that are very bright but full of themselves and are deceived by the hope of wealth and power.Messiah said "His Word is easy for the simple, but it will confuse the wise." The devil confuses the educated but can't with simple message of G-D.

If one has no though left (you can call it an empty mind) which is from the 'old' Zen masters basically the flipside.. Complete Zen is death in our words and a Zen mind, or the study into Zen. Tao tse etc.. had some Masters who thought it was a good idea to withdrawn 'the knowledge of the perhaps deeper and so, darker side of its study', from society. Also Goethe's Faust: a book which describes the negative side of knowledge... Very good question :)
