I believe staying strong in matters like this is the best choice though a difficult thing to do. With time, maybe you can get to love him from a distance and still be happy. If it's yours you'll have it when you wait and if it's not, God will brings someone else to fill the void.
Right now, learn to stay away from him without getting so attached, so that even when he finally made up his mind to be with someone else, you'll not be totally broken, but strong enough to be able to accept it and live on. I believe God will not abandon those who love truthfuly with their hearts and leave them in forever pains.
