A republican is a person who believes in republic which is a form of government that is completely contradictory to monarchy and dictatorship. A republican government is generally associated with the rule of the law. Republicanism is the ideology that is in support of the Republic ideology and is against monarchy. A republican is a term used for a member of the Republican Party which is a conservative party in USA. Institutions or patrons of specific governments which call themselves as Republics are also considered as Republicans. Ronald Reagan had once remarked, “I've never been able to understand why a Republican contributor is a 'fat cat' and a Democratic contributor of the same amount of money is a 'public-spirited philanthropist'. Latinos are Republican. They just don't know it yet.”
