Giving someone praise for their mistakes is the same as condoning their mistakes. People should be congratulated for their merits and for the good they do, not what they do bad. If people are praised for their mistakes, they will never learn from them.

I agree with tzaroh, you shouldn't congratulate someone for theirs mistakes or it could be taken as an insult. If anything congratulate them for learning from their mistakes.

Congratulating someone for his or her mistake is being sarcastic. It‘s like adding insult to injury unless something good comes out of it or unless something good happens for having done that mistake. It shouldn‘t be a mistake that‘s intentionally done for good reasons. Rather, it has to be some sort of “a blessing in disguise“.
