Love hurts, really bad, especially getting left by the one you love the most. If you are absolutely sure you guys can last a very long time, I would say go for it. But, if you don't want to risk losing your friendship, it may not be the best because after being broken up with your ex, it is too hard to even talk to them for a while and is depressing. I am not trying to make you scared to date but, just be sure on your decision :) Best of luck!
