The end of a relationship can be painful for anyone. But, if it's our first love and the relationship ends sooner than we would have wanted, that feeling of loss can seem unbearable. Like the passion of the beginning of the relationship, the newness and rawness of the loss of love can be very intense, and devastating. That's why we call it having a broken heart!
