Incompetence is the lack of competence or simply the inability to perform. Incompetence results from repetitive failures and the inability to deliver the goods or rise to an occasion. Incompetence can have various forms. Military incompetence is failure of members of the military. Administrative incompetence refers to dysfunctional administrative behaviours that lead to hindering of organizational goals. “Incompetence” is a novel that has been written by Red Dwarf co-creator Rob Grant. Marlene Dietrich had once remarked, “A king, realizing his incompetence, can either delegate or abdicate his duties. A father can do neither. If only sons could see the paradox, they would understand the dilemma.”
Some people consider luck to be the last refuge of laziness and incompetence. In the words of Dora Russell, “Marriage, laws, the police, armies and navies are the mark of human incompetence.” Incompetence can be neutralized by showing your competence or the ability to fight for a cause or achievement.
