How am I supposed to choose between two important things?

Maybe look at being a doctor for a profession and a career and look at being a musician as a part time. very few people will make a career out of playing music. I'm not saying that there is no possibility of playing music for a career but just in case it doesnt work out you will need a job. I have something like that going on, I have to choose between two of my favorite sports.... choose whichever one you are more comfortable with.

Time is the key. You will find out how awesome time can change your mind. I wanted to be a musician when I was younger, now I feel like I want to be in the Marine Corps, or become a gunsmith. I think there were a lot others too. But basically, you'll know when you're ready.
